Hello delegates!

My name is Anitra Coelho, and I am honoured to be serving as the President of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology (UNCoST) for DIMUN XV. I am currently a Year 10 student attending Dulwich College Beijing, and this iteration of DIMUN marks my 11th conference, 1st as a secretariat member, and 4th as a chair.

From the moment my MUN journey began, it has been an incredibly fulfilling experience jam-packed with debate, dialogue and diplomacy. MUN has taught me the value of stepping into someone else's shoes, and keeping the bigger picture in sight instead of missing the forest for the trees.

For this conference, the topic I will be specialising in is regarding “The ethical use of gene editing technology in human medicine”, a topic that is sure to have a multitude of perspectives, and I am intrigued to see how each delegate tackles such a pressing issue.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in March!

DEPUTY

Greetings! My name is Olivia Noh and I am honored to have this opportunity to serve as your Deputy President Chair of United Nations Commission on Science and Technology (UNCoST) at DIMUN XV. I am currently a freshman attending International School of Beijing and DIMUN XV marks my 2nd time chairing. I joined MUN in 8th grade, and it has been an enjoyable activity since then. I hope all delegates learn and experience new things here.

The topic I will be addressing in this conference is “Establishing a global ethics framework for artificial intelligence.”

I hope we have an enriching and fruitful debate. See you all in March!
