Hello, I’m Olivia Noh, a sophomore attending the International School of Beijing. I am honored to serve as your President Chair of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at DIMUN XVI. This is my third year participating in Model United Nations, with DIMUN XVI being my eleventh conference and also my sixth time chairing.

The topic I will be focusing on is Topic 2, “Question of the illegal trade of fentanyl and mitigating its effects.” Through this committee, I hope we can make beyond surface-level discussion and work toward nuanced, feasible solutions! My aspiration for our committee is to create resolutions that not only address the root causes of the fentanyl crisis, but also consider long-term solutions in the perspectives of all stakeholders—producer, transit, and consumer states alike.

I’m very excited to see your ideas, creativity, and diplomacy at DIMUN XVI! See you all in February!!

Honorable directors, fellow student officers, and distinguished delegates,

My name is Yena Han, and I am honored to be serving as your Deputy Chair for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime at DIMUN. I am beyond excited to welcome all of you to a committee that delves into some of the most pressing global issues from femicide to the issue of mitigating the illegal trade of fentanyl.

Throughout this conference, I hope to create a space where every delegate feels confident to speak, challenge perspectives, and grow as a diplomat. Remember, MUN isn’t just about resolutions, it’s also about curiosity, critical thinking, and respect for diverse viewpoints.

I look forward to meeting each of you and witnessing the insightful discussions and innovative ideas that will emerge in our committee. Let’s make this DIMUN a memorable and meaningful experience together!
